Sri Sri Narottam Gauidya Math (SSNGM) is engaged in the propagation of transcendental teachings of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who is direct incarnation of Supreme Godhead Sri Krishna arranging spiritual discourses, spiritual meetings, interactions amongst congregations or masses in order to enlighten them about the top most practice of Sri Harinam Sankirtan as prescribed by Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam in order to revive the love for Supreme Godhead Sri Krishna, lying dormant in the hearts of all living beings which is essential to establish close relation of love and unity amongst all, thereby establishing real peace in the world.

Sri Sri Narottam Gaudiya Math (SSNGM) was founded on 9th March, 1955 on the occasion of Holi at Siliguri, West Bengal, India by His Divine Grace Om Vishnupada Astotarashata Swami Bhakti Niloy Sajjan Goswami Maharaj. The following preceptorial preachers by Their self discipline became classic examples for preaching, resulting in the spread of Harinam Sankirtan in a short span of time. Not only this, but next President Acharya, Om Vishnupada Astotarashata Swami Bhakti Niloy Janardan Goswami Maharaj preached in more places.

Sri Sri Narottam Gaudiya Math (SSNGM) is one of the Branch of Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math founded by His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Astotarashata Sri Srimat Bhakti Dayita Madhav Goswami Maharaj (one of the disciples of His Divine Grace Om Astotarashata Srila Bhakti Siddhant Saraswati Goswami Thakur Prabhupada) in 1953 Headquarter at Mayapur.

Amongst many other spiritual and social engagements, this transcendental Organization is also engaged in character building, establishing principles of Indian culture, assisting needy by helping them to establish themselves within the prescribed norms of the society.

The Organization has propagated the all embracing doctrine of transcendental Divine Love of Supreme Godhead Sri Krishna to counter the trend of violence and cruelty, and brought unity in the hearts of all irrespective of caste, creed and religion across the globe. Followers of this Organization are living happily together thereafter.

Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu while exhibiting pastimes on earth, assigned four duties to His two devotees, namely Srila Rupa Goswami and Srila Sanatan Goswami.

1.      To establish the principales of pure devotion.

2.      To revive the holy sites at dham.

3.      To serve Sri Krishna.

4.      To explain and preach the etiquette of devotees.

Sri Sri Narottam Gaudiya Math (SSNGM) is engaged primarily in accomplishments of these four tasks besides others.

Narasimha Chaturdashi

Lord Narasimha was the 4th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. On Narasimha Chaturdashi day Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of Narasimha, a half lion and half man, to kill Demon Hiranyakashipu. The combination of Madhusudana Gaura Chaturdashi with Swati Nakshatra and weekday Saturday is considered highly auspicious to observe Narasimha Chaturdashi Vratam. The rules and guidelines to observe Narasimha Chaturdashi fasting are similar to those of Ekadashi fasting. Devotees eat only single meal one day before Narasimha Chaturdashi.
